This week the children have been fully immersed in festive play as they explored a variety of Christmas-themed activities. In our Santa’s workshop role-play area, they worked together to load the sleigh with presents before carefully delivering them “down the chimney,” sparking plenty of excitement and imaginative storytelling. The children also enjoyed preparing special reindeer food, measuring and scooping oats to feed each reindeer. Our gingerbread-scented playdough was a big hit, with Christmas-shaped cutters and baking tools inspiring creative festive “bakes.” In addition, the Christmas small-world scene encouraged rich imaginative play as children built snowy landscapes, arranged tiny trees and houses, and invented their own seasonal adventures. Plant pots were painted and when dry will be filled with compost and bulbs.
Children’s enthusiasm held as they continued to prepare for the bog garden, although they did take a break to watch the horses.
