On Wednesday we had an exciting visit from Dorset Rural Music School. Ellen and Felix introduced the children to music through Latin-American inspired rhythm and song. They are working with seven schools from Chesil to take part in a performance during the ‘Tree of Strings Festival’ in the Tithe Barn on 3rd July.
Getting geared up for the rain on Thursday, we headed outside to explore the weather, collecting as many raindrops as we could using buckets and containers. The children were fascinated watching the rain fall and loved measuring how much they’d gathered.
Children enjoyed getting their hands dirty as they planted broad beans at the allotments and used diggers and tractors to shift the mud on the farm set table.
Indoors, creativity and fine motor skills were in full swing. Cardboard boxes became everything from cars to houses, while hammering golf tees into polystyrene kept little hands busy and focused, building strength and coordination.
