A week full of floods and puddles

Walks to the allotments and the old railway track involved lots of mud and puddles to splash in. Inspired by the floods and puddles they’ve been seeing everywhere the children decided to add water to the sand pit, and worked together to build a bridge.

At Forest school, the children embraced the muddy weather and got stuck into digging in the bog, taking a break every now and then to admire the horses.

A very special highlight of the week was when a child bought in four guinea pigs to share with everyone. The children were fascinated, learning how to be gentle, observe carefully, and talk about how to look after small animals. We also turned our attention to nature by making bird feeders, discussing how we can help wildlife and care for the birds that visit our gardens.

Imaginative play was in full swing with our dinosaur world, created using planks, tyres, and bridges. The children worked collaboratively to design landscapes for their dinosaurs, developing storytelling, balance, and construction skills along the way.
