On our way to the allotments we stopped and talked to the Energy Advisor. She explained to the children how they can help residents that may be having meter issues, investigate billing problems, help to raise a complaint with the supplier and assist with next steps of contacting the energy ombudsman if it cannot be resolved. The next visit will be Wednesday 15th October, they will be parked by Chesil Bank Pre-School in the Square by Back Street/Market Street, 10am – 12pm. During the session an Energy Advisor is available to give lighter touch energy advice, explain gas and electricity statements, help a resident to sign up for the Priority Service Register for extra support if an issue with power or water, give carbon monoxide awareness and offer free CO monitors.
The children have been busy this week at the allotments. Helping to make a bee house they broke sticks to fit into a bottle making sure the open ends faced outwards, as this is where the bees will live. Also with insects in mind Marj brought seeds for the children to make seed bombs with, that will hopefully flower next year.
Finding lots of spiders around this time of year children enjoyed ‘releasing’ the spiders trapped, using tongs.
Filling backpacks and bags, with everything but the kitchen sink children also enjoyed their camping trip.
