We were grateful for shade on our last trip to Abbotsbury Subtropical gardens before we finish for the summer. Abbotsbury Explorers used mallets to press petals onto paper to make colourful patterns. Carrying scissors and a bag to collect fallen leaves we then set off to a part of the gardens we rarely get to. The children enjoyed climbing the fallen tree, discovering the sculptures scattered around, and “lunch al fresco”.
At pre-school we explored cornflour, and turned the hall into a pirate themed room, acting out the story book ‘The troll’ by Julia Donaldson.
