Minibeasts

Primrose set up a captivating minibeast theme by combining outdoor exploration with hands-on sensory, art, and sorting activities. Children used tweezers to dig and search in a minibeast sensor bin filled with soil, twigs and leaves. Bug spotting checklists were used to hunt minibeasts. After listening to ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ children used pictures to retell the story. Large sheets of paper and a selection of art materials were offered for children to make marks. Some children used lollypop sticks to shave off chalk dust to make ‘pollen’. These activities encouraged curiosity, empath for living things, and early scientific observation skills in young learners.

Always excited to see what Posy brings in the children were delighted to look at and touch a baby chick. Thank you Posy.
