Mud pies, magic hammocks and mighty forts.

Using their imaginations this week the children have been building worlds out of simple objects, and testing their physical limits both indoors and out.

Inside, one room transformed into a bustling construction zone and obstacle course. Soft play blocks, bouncy toys, cushions and bean bags were used to build magnificent, cosy forts.

Our indoor sensory setups provided hours of deep, concentrated play. Claire created a rich farm scene using a mix of textures, including soil, smooth pebbles, dry pasta, and oats. The children loved guiding the toy animals through the different terrains, describing the textures, and sorting the materials.

In the veranda mud kitchen the children mixed, poured, and served up an extensive range of foods and drinks. The garden became a busy place when the children used open-ended outdoor materials to create “ice cream shops, tractors” and much more.

Allotment Adventures this week included mastering the art of getting in and out of the hammock, and swinging the dolls gently, ensuring they didn’t fall out of the hammock.
